Building for a Better Future

Every once in a while we have to give a big shout out to our owner and founder, Colin Logue. He was recently awarded for the volunteer work he does in conjunction with the United Way Early Learners Program. Mrs. Barton with American Preparatory Academy in Salem says of Colin:

"The Man. You may hear many first grade students refer to Colin as "the man". Our first graders love him and look up to him for many reasons. Over the last two years, Colin has donated around 1000 books to our students. Each month he has committed to coming in at lunchtime and reading a story to our entire first grade. he then is able to give a copy of the book he read to each student to take home and keep for his or her own library. He is the man that comes in and reads-- but is also "the man" for helping build the minds of our students. Most recently he spent the entire day on a field trip with the 2nd graders. The students, in his group, were thrilled to have him as a chaperone! He interacted with the students and made them feel important. He listened to their countless stories and even brought "treats" to keep their energy levels high. That day was made even more memorable for those students because of him.

"When true service is rendered, it is given with a happy heart, kind hands and warm smiles. Anytime Colin comes through carpool, you can't help but smile. He is there ready to wave to every single teacher, have his window rolled down ready to crack some jokes or even to thank the teachers for all of their hard work. The saying goes, "Be the reason someone smiles today". Colin has an infectious personality that leaves every person he encounters better than he found them. We are so lucky to have Colin bless the lives of our students and staff."

At Utah Avenue Insurance, we applaud the efforts made throughout our community to make tomorrow better and brighter. We commend Colin for his commitment to enrich the lives of this young generation so they will have a better future. Congratulations Colin!
