What is Papa Pals?
The Papa company offers a hand to help, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, and more! Their staff, the Papa Pals, supports older adults and families with whatever help they need at their own home.
What services does Papa Pals offer?
Papa connects you with a Papa Pal to be your friend and help with everyday tasks, such as:
Friendship: chat, play board games, watch a movie, take a walk, or exercise
Transportation: doctors appointments, errands, grocery, and pharmacy shopping
Technology: help with computers, smart phones, and tables, as well as help accessing telehealth
Home tasks: light cleaning, meal prep, organizing, and pet help
Who are the Pals?
There are Papa Pals of all ages who apply to help out! The company has around 25,000 pals in the US network and provides around 500,000 hours of companionship per year. The Pals, many of whom are college students, are from all sorts of backgrounds. About 20% are pre-med, nursing, or social work students.
Each Pal takes a personality test, and must pass a background check, car screening, and social media scan. Only 8-10% of applicants are selected to be Pals, and the company expects the best service from each member of the staff.
Your care is Covered!
If you are a Select Health Advantage member, you have access up to 30 or 90 hours depending on your plan. Your access to Papa Pals is covered!
If you have a different Medicare advantage plan, call or text your agent at 801-609-8699 to see if Papa Pals access is covered under your plan.
